APICS Instructs First CPIM Class at Rackspace

The South Central Texas chapter of APICS recently completed instructing Basics of Supply Chain Management, the first module of the Certification in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM), at Rackspace Hosting. The class was taught online via Citrix GoToTraining; 13 "Rackers" (Rackspace employees) participated from the company's datacenters in Grapevine, TX; Elk Grove Village, IL; Herndon, VA; and Slough, United Kingdom.

The class, taught in 10 two-hour sessions to account for the various time zones, was a success. "Feedback was very positive" said Jim Hawkins, Rackspace's Director of US Datacenters. One Inventory Team Lead and class participant stated, "this is good stuff and is going to be very useful in furthering my career."
